Gábor Szabó mal pred tromi rokmi mozgovú príhodu, po ktorej mu ochrnula pravá ruka a pravá noha. Poškodené bolo aj jeho rečové centrum. Ani po rehabilitácii nedokázal chodiť o palici. Dokázal povedať jedno alebo dve slová, ale jeho artikulácia nebola veľmi zreteľná.
